Hey there! Maintaining optimal tire pressure is crucial for safe and smooth rides.

Keeping your tire pressure at an optimal level will prevent excessive tire wear and add to good handling in corners, effective braking, and optimal acceleration.

Low or flat tires can cause serious accidents, rim damage, and even tire dismounting at high speeds, leading to disastrous consequences.

However, manually checking tire pressure can be time-consuming and inconvenient, especially while on the road.

This is where wireless tire pressure monitoring systems come in handy. Regularly checking tire pressure through the TPMS system will improve passive safety in the long run.

Having a TPMS system warning before the tire gets low due to a puncture will give you enough time to stop on the side of the road before the tire gets fully deflated. Early warning can prevent accidents and save you from potential rim damage.

The added benefit is that TPMS often measures tire temperature in addition to the pressure so you know when your tires are cold or hot. Knowing tire temperature allows you to predict the tire grip with higher accuracy leading to a more informed decision on the riding style you choose at each moment, especially when leaning the bike in corners.

In addition, a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) can offer accurate guidance for adjusting tire pressure when riding off-road and help you set the optimal tire pressure for specific road conditions.

With the right wireless tire pressure monitoring system, you can ride with confidence, knowing that your tires are in optimal condition.

Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems

Best Overall

#1 SYKIK

Handlebar Monitor: Yes
Pressure accuracy: ±0.2Bar (3 Psi)
Alerts:
Yes
Temperature sensor:
Yes
Phone Integrations: No
Battery life:
9 months

Benefits & Features

Equipped with tire temperature sensors. Which are useful for riding in cold weather during early spring or late autumn. These sensors allow you to monitor the temperature of the tires, enabling you to identify when the tires reach the critical temperature of 7 degrees Celsius at which point they typically become softer. By knowing this information, you can predict the tire’s grip on the asphalt more accurately, improving your safety and overall riding experience.

✅ Shows all information at once without needing to switch displays or press any buttons.

✅ Visible alerts that flash in blue and red colors as well as produces beeping sound. It is possible to set low and high-pressure thresholds in settings.

Note that tire pressure increases as tires get hot since the air inside tires will expand as temperature rises. This is why the high-pressure setting is also useful.

Waterproof, it is kinda expected, however, some systems are simply water-resistant and can’t handle heavy rain.

⚠️ Does not work with the SYKIK app. Sykik developed an app but failed to make this particular TPMS compatible with it. The app would allow more convenient updates of the system as well as setting alert warnings for pressure and temperature.

Best to Use with Helmet Intercom

#2 FOBO

Handlebar Monitor: No
Pressure accuracy: ±0.1Bar (1.5Psi)
Alerts:
audio, haptic, text alerts
Temperature sensor:
Yes
Phone Integrations: Yes
Battery life:
5 months

Benefits & Features

✅ Receive alerts and notifications directly through the Helmet intercom or smartwatch if you have one. FOBO sends notifications to other Bluetooth devices connected to your phone, that are within range.

Personally, I find haptic notifications on my smartwatch to be more convenient. I tend to check my phone immediately when my smartwatch vibrates, and since I typically keep my phone on the handlebar, I can easily see the notification text right away.

⚠️ Requires location tracking at all times. It is not explained why would a tire pressure monitoring system require to track phone location. It should simply work automatically if it is within range.

However, a simple solution could be adjusting the app permissions and turning off Bluetooth when not using the app.

❌ Does not have a separate handlebar monitor that shows real-time info all the time. Sure, you can use your phone mounted on the handlebar instead, but having a separate dedicated monitor is more convenient if you want to track your tire temperature when it is cold and see how it fluctuates in real time.

#3 STEEL MATE

Handlebar Monitor: Yes
Pressure accuracy: ±0.2Bar (3 Psi)
Alerts:
Yes
Temperature sensor:
Yes
Phone Integrations: No
Battery life:
6 months

Benefits & Features

Has tire temperature sensors. Useful for riding in cold weather in early spring or late autumn so you know when the tire reaches 7 degrees Celsius. (Temperature at which most tires turn soft). This way you can predict tire grip on asphalt with higher accuracy.

Visually appealing design. I like the round monitor shape. The display is large enough to quickly see the numbers with a mere glance.

Good customer service. If you have a problem or need a replacement sensor – they will send you a new part without questions.

⚠️ The display does not show all information at once. Instead, you must switch between time, front wheel temperature, and rear wheel temperature on the upper part of the display. However, it is not possible to view both tire temperatures at the same time.

⚠️ The clock feature is unnecessary. Motorcycles already show time on display – no point in having another time display.

⚠️ Display batteries are not included. These are simple AAA batteries but you will have to pick them up yourself separately.

⚠️ Fragile plastics. Do not drop the monitor and remove the battery cover carefully – it brakes easily.

Worth Mentioning

#4 NEWekey

Handlebar Monitor: Yes
Pressure accuracy: ±0.05Bar (0.5 Psi)
Alerts:
Yes
Temperature sensor:
Yes
Phone Integrations:
Battery life:
4 months

Benefits & Features

IP67 Waterproof. This is a really good waterproof rating meaning you won’t have to worry about the monitor when riding through a thunderstorm.

⚠️ Does not show tire temperature for each tire in real time, only a high-temperature warning when tire temperature exceeds 68℃.

⚠️ Auto-shutdown feature sometimes does not work – but in some cases, this is a good thing since it is super easy to activate this system when pushing the bike out of the garage. Also, it has a rechargeable battery that lasts 4 months between recharges.

⚠️ Uses custom Type A USB charging cable that is hard to find a replacement if you lose the original one.

⚠️ Poorly written and vague installation instructions.

Worth Mentioning

#5 YESHIN

Handlebar Monitor: Yes
Pressure accuracy: ±0.1Bar (1.5Psi)
Alerts:
Yes
Temperature sensor:
Yes
Phone Integrations:
Battery life:
3 months between charges

Benefits & Features

✅ Shows both tire pressure and temperatures simultaneously without needing to press any buttons.

✅ High pressure measuring range from 0 to 8 bar (116 PSI) which surely covers the 2-3 bar range that most motorcycle tires require for safe operation.

⚠️ Weak handlebar clamp

⚠️ Inconvenient mag-type charger. Weak magnets cause the charger end to detach.
